Privacy & Data Minimisation Policy

1. Our Core Privacy Philosophy

Good Kitchens is built on the principle of data minimisation. We believe you should be able to explore kitchen dimensions, benchmark project costs, and design your space without having your personal contact details harvested and sold to call centers.

2. Local-First Client Storage

When you use our Project Intake, Cost Calculator, Style Quiz, and Brief Builder, your inputs are saved securely in your browser's local storage (localStorage). Your project data belongs to you. You can export it as a JSON file at any time, or purge it with a single click.

3. Information Collected Upon Enquiry

We only collect your name, email, phone number, and project notes if you explicitly submit a request for an architectural brief review or specialist match. This data is transmitted over encrypted TLS connections and stored securely.

4. AI Advisory Architecture & Document Processing

Queries submitted to our Advisor are processed server-side using secure API endpoints. We do not use your private home architectural drawings or personal project notes to train third-party public machine learning models.

4a. AI Processing & External Provider Disclosures

Good Kitchens may utilize Google Gemini to analyze project requirements and generate architectural and cost advice when live AI features are enabled. When external processing occurs:

• Categories of transmitted data: Only non-identifying project characteristics are shared (property typology, approximate room dimensions, target investment bracket, selected cabinetry/worktop tiers, structural scope, and project stage).
• Data Minimisation: We deliberately exclude personal identifying information (PII). Your name, email address, telephone number, and full postal street address are never transmitted to external AI providers.
• Uploaded Documents: Uploaded floor plans, PDFs, and photographs are stored in private server storage and are not transmitted to external AI models.
• Local Processing Fallback: When the advisory feature operates using our internal deterministic rules engine, all calculations and findings occur entirely on our secure servers without external transmission.
• External Provider Terms: Google processes API data under the Google Privacy Policy and Google Cloud Data Processing agreements.

5. Zero Data Brokering

Good Kitchens does not sell, rent, or trade your contact information with mass advertiser networks or directory platforms. Vetted introductions occur only with your explicit opt-in consent.

6. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
